This WSTHOF Diamond-coated sharpening steel is a very efficient tool to sharpen dull or moderately sharp knives. (It should be used alongside a steel for honing, which you can find here.) Used by professionals the world over, this WSTHOF sharpening steel has a comfortable grip for ease of use. As this steel removes a tiny amount of metal from the knife, a honing steel is recommended for daily or weekly sharpening. We do not recommend using this for Japanese knives.
